Chapter 33

33. A2

THE BUDDHA ENDS HIS TEACHING BY STATING THAT, EVERY STAGE TOWARDS THE CESSATION OF SUFFERING AMOUNTS TO A RIGHT UNDERSTANDING.*(01

(THE 3RD AD 4TH NOBLE TRUTHS)

*(01) THIS CONVEYS MOST SIGNIFICANTLY, THAT OWING TO THE EVOLUTION AND DEVOLUTION OF MIND AND MATTER, THE MIND IS NOT AN IMMUTABLE

SOUL. AND IMPLIES; THAT WITHIN THESE INEXORABLE PROCESSES, A PERMANENT HAPPINESS IS NOT POSSIBLE.

33 A 3

IN OTHER WORDS, THE PRACTICE OF BUDDHISM AMOUNTS TO ACQUIRING AN

UNDERSTANDING OF THE TRUTH (DHAMMA). THERE IS NO OTHER PRACTICE OF ‘THE TRUE NATURE OF THINGS.’  THEN, CONFIDENCE LEADS TO ADJUSTMENT – EACH ONE WITHIN ONE’S SELF!

33 .B

THE BUDDHA HAS REPEATEDLY STATED THAT HE TEACHES ONLY ONE THING

THE WAY TO ERADICATE SUFFERING. AND THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE

CRITERION BY, WHICH THE TEACHINGS GENUINE CAN BE RECOGNIZED ITS

COMPLETE AMENABILITY TO REASON*(01) (RATIONALITY). THAT WHICH MUST PERVADE ALL TRUTHS; BEIT MORALITY OR REALITY.

*(01 THIS APPLIES BOTH TO ITS THEORY AND TO THE (PRACTICAL) RESULTS IT MUST PRODUCE.)

33 B 3

REALITY, UNDERSTOODIN ANY WAY, CAN PRODUCE THE SAME RESULTS AS THE BUDDHA DID, BY HIS METHOD
