Chapter 18

18.

THE VIRTUE OF PATIENCE IS NOT TO ENDURE AN (UNPLEASANT) EFFECT, BUT

TO INVESTIGATE IT S CAUSE – BEFORE REACTING AND TOLERANCE IS THE ABILITY TO MODIFY THE ENSUING REACTION APPROPRIATELY.*(1) PAIN: PAUSE *(2): CAUSE*(3): THEN COURSE!

*(01) Frequent irritation and even anger arising out of an incompatible association, should be analyzed and recognized as a state of dislike, requiring dissociation with no further contact; until some consensus is established. This is a Rational Justice. But, Patience (and Tolerance) is the only way of converting others’ experiences (and responses) into one’s own knowledge. Pride and its counterpart, of feeling inferior, are the main obstacles to accommodating for such knowledge.

*(02) Pain must always be assessed in its proper perspective; and not permitted to be magnified because one’s “Pride has been hurt” – too! (Disparaging do not slur one’s dignity.)

*(03) When in persistent pain and things are repeatedly going wrong, it is imperative to find out whether you are an “Incidental”  who is simply being used, or a person being “induced” into correction; or whether the happenings are purely “accidental” and can be corrected routinely. The solution for the “induced” is to realize, Rejection and rectify – the wrong. The solution for the ‘Incidental’ is to realize, Justify ad Accept – True values, to reality. Even an animal will look for alternatives, if routine efforts are of no avail.
